| AIDS EDUCATION and Awareness - We have
partnered with Pediatric HIV to provide confidential HIV screenings and education for
adults and children regardless of income. "Bea Gaddy Fashions"
CLOTHING CLOSET - We accept donations of new and used clothing to provide to anyone
entering our doors. Our clients are free to browse through our clothes racks to find
that just right outfit. Due to our limited storage space, we can only accept current
seasonal clothing.
FOOD PANTRY - We maintain a source of donated food daily to provide our
clients. We solicit canned goods and nonperishable items all year. We also
solicit donations ob baby formula, and food to provide those in need. Due to the
large response to our food pantry, we must limit the quantity of food each client can
receive.
T.I.K.E. Van - Sponsored by the Baltimore City Health Department. We
provide no cost pediatric immunizations for all school age children and adults provide no
cost pediatric immunization.
"Bea's Welcome Home Program" - This service allows women that have
recently been released from incarceration a seven day stay to become readjusted with
society.
Women, Infants and Children (W.I.C) - In partnership with The Baltimore City
Health Department our center provides on site registration.
Summer Lunch Program - We provide a daily lunch to any child entering our
center. If there are left over meals we allow the children to take them home to
ensure they will have dinner.
Women's and Children's Shelter, Short Term housing (one to seven days only) No Fee.
Our facility can houses 9 women and their children on short notice. The women are
allowed to stay for up to seven days at no cost.. Long Term Housing 30-60 days (Fee).
Women must provide voucher or proof of their ability to pay prior to entrance. All
women must provide proof that they are drug free within 48 hours of arrival. Women are
allowed to stay for up to 60 days on a fee basis. These women are required to enter
into a training program within 5 days of entry into the shelter. The children are
transferred in a school in the neighborhood, which allows smother transition for
students.
The Bea Gaddy Thanks for Giving Campaign - Thanksgiving Day Dinner
This has truly become a part of Baltimore's favorite past time, Citizens of Baltimore
call months in advance to volunteer their time to participate in our efforts to feed the
thousands of people that come out to eat dinner with us. Major corporations partner
with us annually to help those in need. This program is our largest and most
publicized event. |
